We are thrilled to share exciting news as we embark on a new chapter for Up At Dawn. Since our founding in 2019 by the dedicated ER nurse Tesla Teitge-Mergenthaler, her mission has been to support those who work tirelessly on their feet. What started in Pupukea with a focus on healthcare professionals has grown to serve hikers, gym-goers, expectant mothers, travelers, and more.

As Tesla transitions to a new role in nurse education in New Jersey, we are excited to introduce the new team behind Up At Dawn: Laura, Megan and Nina. Each of us has a deep connection to Hawaii and a strong background in nursing, and we are honored to carry forward Tesla’s legacy.

A Message From Tesla:
”The past six years have been filled with six memorable Nurse’s Weeks, Holidays, fun giveaways, vending opportunities at local markets, featured highlights in United Airline’s Hemisphere Magazine, two podcast interviews, and hosting a vendor booth at ANCC & BCEN Nursing Conferences. I reflect on all these experiences and accomplishments with nothing less than pride and gratitude! It is my greatest pleasure to announce that Up At Dawn is returning home to Hawaii! With this return comes an exciting start of a new journey for the business! Three incredible humans, nurses and friends will be taking the reigns of the company to elevate it to new and exciting heights! Nina, Megan and Laura will work together to bring you exciting new designs and products and maintain the integrity, quality, and core values of the company.”

Laura, an agency nurse, is embarking on an exciting new chapter as a nurse practitioner specializing in neurology. Her passion for patient care and commitment to making a difference shine through in her nursing journey. Outside of work, Laura, a true foodie, loves exploring new dishes and traveling. Her enthusiasm for both her career and personal interests highlights her vibrant and well-rounded approach to life.

Nina is an ER nurse who believes in maintaining a balanced lifestyle, which is why she prioritizes both her mental and physical health through regular exercise, therapy, and mindfulness practices. One of her favorite pastimes is catching the beauty of sunrises and sunsets, which reminds her to appreciate the small moments in life. Whether in the ER, trying a new restaurant, or taking in a breathtaking view, she is always looking to enrich her life and the lives of those around her. Fun fact: Nina and Tesla used to work together and she was one of UAD’s ambassadors!

Megan is currently working as a telemetry nurse; born and raised in Hawaii. When she is not working at the bedside she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her pup Ollie, traveling, trying new restaurants, checking books off her read list, and trying new workout classes. As a long time customer of Up At Dawn, she is so excited to be a part of a company that supports nurses and an active lifestyle.

Together, we are committed to upholding the values that have made Up At Dawn a trusted brand: quality, comfort, and a genuine connection to our community. We look forward to continuing to support and serve our customers across the Hawaiian Islands and beyond as we embark on this exciting new chapter.
